Pipa Rose was born from a deep love for beauty in all its forms. At the heart of the brand is Phillipa, our founder, a dreamer who designs, makes and curates pieces that feel personal and one of a kind.
Each garment is a reflection of Phillipa’s own world, delicate yet bold, feminine yet unfussy, creative yet considered. Whether designed by her hands or carefully handpicked, every piece in the brand carries her unique touch and sensibility.
At just 21, Phillipa launched Pipa Rose from a small studio in Paris, where she began crafting handmade lingerie. What started as a passion project has grown into a slow fashion label, but the heart of the brand remains unchanged: everything is still made-to-order, by Phillipa herself, with care and intention.
By producing in small batches and only making what is needed, the brand reduces waste as much as possible. Every garment passes through Phillipa’s hands, from design and cutting to stitching, steaming, packaging, and sending, creating an intimate connection between maker and wearer.
Phillipa’s story began in South Africa, where her love for sewing was sparked at the age of seven by her grandmother, who taught her to make her very first cushion. Her childhood was filled with creativity, from playing dress-up in vintage gowns with her sister that her mother collected, to crafting mood boards from fashion magazines and sketching fashion ideas from as young as nine.
At 18, she moved to Paris to study fashion, bringing with her a suitcase full of dreams and a heart set on creating. While studying, she gained first hand exposure to the fashion industry by working for designers like Elie Saab and Kenzo during Paris Fashion Week, all while juggling waitressing jobs and building her own brand.
Today, Pipa Rose remains a one-woman show. Phillipa still designs, sews, and runs every part of the business herself.
